Monica Youn

  "Over the past several years, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of hidden messages and narrations, which is why research has become a large part of my process.  Serious or contrasting allusions usually find their way into my drawings and paintings.  Most of my work reference literature, folklore, or the language of flowers in order to emphasize a thought or feeling.  I take joy in creating an extra story line that is woven into my pieces."

 

  Monica Youn was born in 1995 in NJ.  She received her BS in Art+Design from Towson University in May 2017.  Youn has exhibited a solo exhibition at Towson University’s Center of the Arts.  Monica Youn currently resides in Harford, Maryland.
